The shared Geomicrobiology analytical facilities consist of four different labs in the Green Earth Sciences Building.  Main areas of study are:

  1. molecular, bio(geo)chemical, and ecological aspects of the microbial cycling of nitrogen, carbon, and metals in the environment
  2. diversity, distribution, and activity of microorganisms driving greenhouse gas cycling in the ocean and beyond
  3. molecular biomarkers in modern organisms to refine our interpretations of the microbial fossil record.

The lab is part of the shared analytical facilities in the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability.
