Lab users are expected to follow guidelines in the Chemical Hygiene Plan, EHS-4200 General Safety training, EHS-1900 Chemical Safety training and other required training.  This includes, but is not limited to, wearing proper PPE, no eating and drinking in the lab, keeping areas clean, understand how to operate equipment in a safe manner, label all containers containing chemicals with the full chemical name, use secondary containment, etc.  More information in this document.

Laboratory policies are subject to change, and it is the responsibility of all laboratory users to be aware of current rules and regulations. Personnel who have been granted access to the Geomicrobioloty Shared Laboratories understand that the facility operates on a three strikes rule. Three repeated instances of laboratory health and safety violations will result in loss of access to the Geomicrobiology Lab. This will be determined on a case by case basis by the Laboratory Manager.
